Smelling Gas
You ever have one of those moments that you wonder where your head was at?
I recently realized that when you are in a parking lot and smell gas-it could very well be your vehicle. I was in the Walmart parking lot-putting away my groceries-and could smell a strong gasoline smell. I went towards my tank-and ofcourse that had a light smell of gas-so I decided it wasn't my vehicle. I proceeded to drive home, then to the school to get my son, then to the hospital for a test for him. All the while that gas smell seemed to be following me. But there were no leaks at the back end. So I called my husband and he said I should stop at the local body shop. When we pulled in the smell was even stronger-come to find out my vehicle was leaking gas....DUH...but not at the back end-right under the driver side section of the vehicle-where I didn't look. We obviously were not allowed to drive off with it-but for under $50 the mechanic fixed it-and I learned a great lesson. If you think you smell gas, the gas smell doesn't go away, and you continue to smell gas-more than likely you are having a gas leak-go get it looked at. |
